Alberta Airsheds Council (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Alberta Airhub. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you visit the website, request access, or participate in the Airhub community.

Depending on how you use Alberta Airhub, we may collect:
- Access-request information: your first and last name, email address, title or role, organization, Alberta Airshed membership status, and sector.
- Account and profile information: your account details, display name, profile photo, and optional information you add to your forum profile.
- Community contributions: blog comments, forum topics, replies, uploaded files, subscriptions, and reports submitted to moderators.
- Communications: information you provide when contacting us for assistance.
- Technical and usage information: IP addresses, browser and device details, access logs, and information about how visitors use the website.
How we use your information
We use this information to:
- Review access requests and confirm eligibility for member areas.
- Create and manage accounts and access permissions.
- Display profiles and contributions to the appropriate audience.
- Provide forum features and send account or subscription notifications.
- Respond to questions and support requests.
- Moderate discussions, prevent spam, and protect the website.
- Understand website use and improve its content and functionality.
Comments, profiles, and forum participation
Blog comments may be visible to other website visitors, including people who are not signed in.
The Airhub forum, member directory, and forum profiles are restricted to authorized Hub users. Your display name, profile photo, contributions, and other profile information permitted by the forum settings may be visible to those users.
Your account email address is not displayed to ordinary forum members through the member-email feature. Authorized administrators and moderators may access it and other account information to operate and moderate the community.
A members-only forum is a shared space. Other members may copy or share information they can access. Please avoid posting confidential information or another person’s personal information without their permission.
Email notifications
We send emails needed to manage your account, such as password-reset and email-change messages.
Forum topic subscriptions are selected by default when you post. If you leave the subscription selected, you may receive email notifications about replies. You can change your subscriptions and available notification preferences in your forum settings or use unsubscribe links where provided.
Cookies and Google Analytics
We use cookies to support sign-in, maintain sessions, and provide website features.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Alberta Airhub. Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages visited, interactions, approximate location, browser and device type, and how visitors reached the website.
We use this information to measure website activity and improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising.
Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses, although IP addresses are used during collection to determine approximate location.

Depending on the player settings and your interactions, it may also use cookies or similar technologies.

Retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account administration, community operation, security, and applicable legal requirements.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No website or method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Your information and choices
You can update your display name, email address, and profile photo through My Profile. Hub members can manage additional profile information and notification preferences through their forum settings.
To request access to or correction of your personal information, discuss account closure or removal of your contributions, or raise a privacy concern, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Closing an account does not necessarily remove previous comments, forum contributions, or copies shared by others. Some information may also remain in backups until those backups expire or need to be retained for legal, security, or administrative reasons. Contact us to discuss a specific removal request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
